I fi...I had the random calf pain that you describe. I finally narrowed it down to my shoes and the difference was both dramatic and instant. I did a 10km race in my brand new shoes and had zero calf pain after the race (45:01). Every other run before that resulted in my calves being so tight they would hurt for days.
