Visions Of Economic Policy

I posted this on my Facebook wall this morning:
I'm curious. Here's a survey question for you.In your opinion, which is the better outcome:
(1) 10% YOY GDP growth + a 1% decrease in Social Security payments. 
- or - 
(2) 1% YOY GDP growth + a 10% increase in Social Security payments 
Follow-up question: Suppose we could only increase one of those numbers by decreasing the other. How much could we move both numbers before you would change your answer to the first question?
It should be interesting to see how this pans out. Please feel free to answer these questions in the comments section below. I respectfully request that you keep debates very limited, because more people will respond if they aren't subjected to a few bad apples who wish to debate the matter.

To be clear, I think the matter is worth debating, but perhaps we can save it for a follow-up post.
